    • Notes for Joseph HARRIS:
      According to a Betty (Myrick) Mize (75) granddaughter of Joseph Franklin Harris:
      Soon after the Civil War, he was in an argument with a negro. He killed the negro but was acquitted in court. It is believed that he was crossing the river on a ferry and got into an argument. Troutman helped him get away.

      According to a Kevin Harris' research, Joseph served as a private in the CSA. He was captured and sent to Camp Chase, OH prison. He was injured in the leg.
      Joseph and his family lived on the road near Pleasant Valley Cem. Rome, Floyd Co, GA. His mother and sister, Amanda, lived with them.
