Henry enlisted in Company B, 19th Alabama Infantry on August 12, 1861. He mustered in as a 3rd Corporal. He was reported absent sick in November 1862 at Glasco, Kentucky and appears on a list of paroled prisoners captured in Kentucky during September, October, and November 1862 who were sent to General Bragg and placed in Camp at Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was wounded at Missionary Ridge on November 25, 1863 and was sent to the hospital on the same day. He was promoted to Corporal subsequent to January – February 1864. Source: John T.
