[1]...JACOB LESTER (A) and his first wife are the oldest known ancestors of this family history. They were probably born in Virginia, sometime in the first half of the 1700's. The name of JACOB"S first wife is not known but it is belived that her maiden name was "LEWIS" a name given to LESTER men in each generation since.
[1a]...According to the research of John W. Pritchett JACOB LESTER's father is ROBERT LESTER. No other information source has been discovered that will corroborate this fact. However, on Mr. Pritchett's web site, www.virginians.com, he sites the following reference for this fact: "Henrico County, VA Orphan's Court Records 1755-1762 The Virginia Genealogist Vol 34 Page 122. I haven't viewed this source but believe that the information is probably correct.

[2]...JACOB LESTER (A) lived in Chesterfield County Virginia, this is southwest of Richmond in a rural area. He was on the census of Chesterfield County Virginia in 1783 and 1790.

[3]...The revolutionary war records of Chesterfield County Virginia show that JACOB LESTER had 33 bushels of corn taken by the United States Army in 1781 and 275 pounds of beef in September 1781. No military record of JACOB LESTER has been found.

[4]...JACOB LESTER (A2) was married for the second time about 1787 in Chesterfield County Virginia to MARTHA MILES, there were no children. No other information on this marriage at this time.
[1,2,3,4] excerpts from WILLIAM "BILL" L LESTER'S research
[rdwjr]...There is a conflict in the information for the marriage date of JACOB and MARTHA MILES. File 101A.txt contains note [4] just above this paragraph while File 101B.txt contains the following note similar to [4]
"JACOB LESTER (A2) was married for the second time 10 Apr 1805 to MARTHA HAMLETT in Chesterfield Co. Va. there were no children. No other information on this marriage at this time. "
This is also in conflict with the information in [5] below which states a marriage date of 1887. This clearly is a typrographical error and I assume it to be 1787 which would match the first file's, 101A.txt, information. Will have to research further.
