  Died at age 87 years, 9 months, 18 days. ________________ [1] From the Athens, GA Banner. Date Unknown "Mrs. Betsy Lester, nee Miss Betsy Patman, died on the 2nd instantly. She was a native of Virginia, and came to Georgia at quite an early age, and before fully maturing into womanhood was married to Lewis Lester, and since became the mother of sixteen children, only loosing one before reaching manhood. Her descendents reaches into the hundreds, and she lived to see her fourth generation." "Her health had been much impaired for the last twelve years, so consequently her death was not unexpected. She joined the Primitive Baptist church when quite young, and since lived a a life which has been unimpeachable. She had reached the advanced age of eighty-eight.
