- Died at age 53 years, 3 months, 27 days.
________________
[1]...General Notes: The following is copied from the Family Puzzlers number 1259, dated December 5, 1992. This information concerns Josiah Daniell, son of William Daniell and Mary Melton. The graves of Josiah and Sarah are in Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Oconee County, Georgia, in an area which was formerly Clarke Co.. The grave marker reads: To the memory of Josiah Daniell who was born Feb.26th 1792 and departed this life June 22nd 1845, Aged 53 years, 3 months, 28 days. The inscription is on one side of the headstone and his wife's is on the other side. It reads: To the memory of Sarah Daniell, his wife, who was born June 10th 1782 and departed this life July 23rd 1838, Aged 56 years, 1 month and 13 days. They share a gravestone with inscriptions on both sides. The burials are within a rude (crude ?) fieldstone wall, with the couple buried north-south, rather than east-west as are the remaining graves. Next to them is an unmarked brick box vault with top missing. This could be Mary's grave. Then was buried; William Daniell, GA Troops, Rev. War, Sept. 5, 1840. This government marker adjoined a mound grave under a large cedar tree. There are a number of later Daniell graves, including another Josiah, born 9-24-1826, died 3-13-1869.
