• Notes

  Lewis John Lester's information (although his actual tombstone is missing) mentions three women as his wives, two of whom I have already accounted for - Julia Moody Lester, who was the second wife and mother of all of Lewis' children except Thomas Benton Lester, Nancy Emeline Harkey, and Mary Lester (presumably the first wife, who was mother of Thomas Benton Lester - no maiden name is given). This is speculation, but I wonder if Mary's maiden name was Benton, accounting for her son Thomas Lester's middle name.
