  • Notes
    • There is no modern (circa 2009) Sandy Creek place name in either Orange or Randolph Counties, North Carolina. There is a Sandy Creek townsip near the coast. There are references to Sandy Creek in each county in historical books. For Orange County, Sandy Creek references a Baptist Church. Perhaps the community around the church was known as Sandy Creek and this could account for the name.
