      Joe Boyd Wood, 74, of 2099 Spring Circle, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002.
      A native of Madison County, Mr. Wood was a son of the late George and Mary Brown Wood. He was employed at Comer Motor Co. and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a former chief of the Comer Fire Department and was a member of Woodmen of the World and New Hope Presbyterian Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Hope Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Wesley Weaver and Calvin Coile officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
      Survivors include his wife, Mary Johnson Wood; two daughters, Teresa Stone, Eastman, and Angie Crawford, Tybee Island; two stepsons, Gary Weaver, Hartwell, and Wesley Weaver, Sebastian, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Charlie Parham, Danielsville, and J.T. Parham, Comer; and four grandchildren.
      The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville.
