    • Athens - Faye G. Hopkins, 135 Sunset Dr. passed away on Friday October 24, 2003.
      A native of Madison County, Mrs. Hopkins was the daughter of the late Emmett Monroe and Margie Hart Gordon. She was preceded in death by her husband Grady Hopkins in 1997 and a granddaughter Rebecca in 1993. Mrs. Hopkins was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. For the past years she had resided at Athens Heritage and the family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff for the love and excellent care she received. Survivors include a daughter and son in law Helen and Philip Wood Sr, Douglasville; grandson; Dr. and Mrs. Philip Wood, Jr., Madison and Barry Wood, Douglasville, sisters in law, Mrs. Hilda McLeroy, Athens and Mrs. Myrtle Gordon, Colbert; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
      Graveside services will be 11AM Monday at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Jack Lindsey officiating. The family will receive friends at Bernstein from 9:30 - 10:30 AM Monday.
      Bernstein Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
