      Comer News, Friday, Dec 3, 1976: NOTED PRISONER ESCAPES: A Madison County prisoner, who was sentenced to die in connection with the brutal slaying of Mr Charlie Eberhart of Colbert about a year ago, escaped from the Madison County Jail in Danielsville early last Friday morning. The prisioner, William Campbell, was captured around 9:30 a m Friday morning after several hours of search by the Sheriff's department, police department of Colbert and Comer, Colbert Fire Department, Madison County Civil Defense, bloodhounds from Elbert County and others.
