- |PENUEL WOOD, SR, oldest son of WILLIAM and MARY WOOD, was born about 1733 probably in Virginia, moved to Granville County, |North Carolina sometime between 1752 and 1754. It is believed that PENUEL moved to South Carolina soon after 1770. (see page 100B-1, years 1748 thru 1751 & 1752-1754. also see page 100B-4, years 15 Dec 1770 and 15 Jul 1974, to find out how |above dates were determined. PENUEL died in 1810 in Spartanburg Co, South Carolina and it is believed that he and his |wife CONNIE were buried at the Old Wood Cemetery that was moved to make way for the Spartanburg & Greenville airport.
