  • Notes 
    • Thomas resided in Randolph County where he enlisted at the age of 21 on June 5, 1861. He mustered in as Sergeant. He was reported absent without leave in September – October 1862 and returned to duty on an unspecified date. He was captured at or near Jericho Mills, Virginia on May 23, 1864. He was confined at Point Lookout yankee prison, Maryland until paroled and transferred to Cox’s Landing, James River, Virginia where he was received on October 15, 1864 for exchange. He returned to duty on an unspecified date and was promoted to 1st Sergeant subsequent to October 31, 1864. He was paroled at Appomattox Court House, Virginia on April 9, 1865. -- Source; John T.
