- Jess Osborn Harris names was spelled in many ways in various documents. He was referred to "Aud" and signed his name that way. In the 1870 census has it Asburn, the 1880 census has it Osborne; the 1900 census has it as Ausburn. He signed a few letters like to his Grandmother as J. O. His grandmother called him "Aud".
He lived in Snake Creek Gap in Gordon Co, GA. His Civil War pension application states he was living near Resaca in 1897, probably in the Snake Creek Gap. He graduated from Dawnville High School.
Occupation: Saw miller, blacksmith, & farmer.
