- Died at age 40 years, 10 months, 5 days.
-------------------------
From a book written by Brent Holcomb of newspaper articles from the Greenville paper articles between 1826-1869:
Henry Basco Hendrix died in the Civil War, and was buried in N.Y.
A marker does not exist at Sharon for him, though. It seems that he
was captured during an engagement near Petersburg, VA, taken
prisoner of war, and died at Elmira, NY. Another bit of information
from his Military records was that he deserted for about six months.
He was born 24 May 1824,and died in the Civil war May 16, 1865.
He married Lucinda Avaline Johnson, who was born Dec 6 1825 and
died Dec 4 1893. She is buried at Sharon Methodist, Reidville, SC.
Her parents were Lemuel Johnson (1799-1888) and Polly Leonard (1800-1888)
Polly's father Jonas Leonard was the founder of Sharon Methodist Church
