As a young man Darce worked at the Commerce Fertilizer Company in Commerce, GA. The date was 20 March 1943 which made him at the age of 18. Darce served in the U. S. Army during World War II. (2-4-1943 - 3-1-1965) Darce, wife and daughter Joyce Ann lived in Salzburg, Austria from 1950 - abt 1955 where they had a son Daniel Aaron and Lydia Kathyrn Wood. He studied and graduated from the University of Salzburg, Austria.
He retired with over 20 years in the army. He went on to selling life insurance until he bought a cabinet shop in Wrens, GA. He named the shop Wren's Cabinet Shop. This was during the time he was married to Carolyn Dixon.
