In the name of GOD Amen. Know ye that I LUCRETTIA DEMSY of Spartanburg District and State of South Carolina being
weak in body but sound in mind and memory, blessed be the Almighty GOD for the same, do make this my last Will and
Testament in manner and form following. I will my body to the dust and my spirit to GOD who gave it, and my property
both real and personal I bequeath in the following manner and order.
First I desire that so much of my personal estate be sold as will be sufficient to discharge all my just debts, if my
executors cannot discharge them otherwise.
Item 1st: I give and bequeath unto my two daughters, MILLY WIGGINGTON and ELIZABETH WOOD, five shillings cash to be
paid by my executors out of my estate.
Item 2nd: I give and bequeath unto my grandson, SOLOMON POWERS WOOD, one gray mare, one young gray horse, one cow
and calf, one bed and furniture.
Item 3rd: I give and bequeath unto my grandson, JAMES FATE WOOD, one tract of land lying on the waters of Maple Swamp
Creek, one bed and furniture, and one cow and calf.
Item 4th: I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter, MILLEY McDANIEL WOOD, one bed and furniture, one cow and calf.
Item 5th: I give and bequeath unto my grandson, FIELDING WIGGINGTON WOOD, the old white mare and one cow and calf.
Item 6th: I give and bequeath unto my three grandchildren, PINUL, LUCY and HESTER WOOD, one cow and calf and an
increase for the use of raising the children and for them, when of age, to be divided.
Item 7th: I give and bequeath unto my three grandchildren, (three beds and furniture now in the possession of FELDING
WIGGINGTON), FIELDING W. WOOD, PINUL WOOD and LUCY WOOD, which property is disposed in the next item.
Item 8th: I hereby bequeath the three beds and furniture, as in the 7th item, but reserve the use of the said
property to MILLEY WIGGINGTON during her life or while she remains in this neighborhood, but if she removes, then the
property immediately reverts to my grandchildren named in the 7th item, and to be divided equally between them when
they come in possession of it.
Item 9th: I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter, HISTER WOOD, one bed and furniture to be her property at the
death of her mother.
Item 10th: I further give and bequeath unto my grandson, JAMES FATE WOOD, one sorrel mare and colt in addition to the
property before specifically named.
Item 11th: The property that I specifically bequeath, shall remain on the farm until they become of age. When they
shall come in possession of it, (that is not otherwise arranged), it is for the use of the family until they do become
of age.
Item 12th: All the rest of my estate I wish to remain on the place for the use of the family until the youngest grandchild becomes of age then I give and bequeath it to be equally divided between all my grandchildren namely, JAMES F,
SOLOMON P, FIELDING W, MILLEY, PINUL, LUCY and HESTER WOOD.
Item-13th: It is my will that in case any of my grandchildren dies before they become of age or have any heirs, then
the property that I have willed to he or she or any of them, shall be equally divided between all the rest of my grandchildren named in this Will.
Item-14th: I appoint my grandson, SOLOMON P. WOOD and WILLIAM WILSON, my true and trusty friends my executors to this
my last Will and Testament which I enjoin on them to execute to the best of their judgement, and they are to be known
and regarded as such when sworn in.
Item-15th: In case there should be any difference of opinion respecting the instructions of any part or parts of this
my last Will, it is my will they should in no way use the law, but each of the contesting parties choose one just and
upright man each ant they have the usage of a third who shall decide all controversial points which will be binding.
Item-16th: The word "WOOD" in the seventh line from the bottom in the 1st page and word "to" in the third line from
the bottom in the second page underlined before signed.
In testimony of this my last Will and Testament I have here unto caused my name to be written and made my mark to the
same this June 10th eighteen hundred and twenty six and of the American Independence the fiftieth.
