Marion Lloyd Wood (1930-2007)

Marion Lloyd Wood, 77, of Commerce, died Monday, July 30, 2007, at BJC Medical Center in Commerce.
Born on January 7, 1930, in Banks County, he was the son of the late John Caleb Wood Jr. and Odessa Poole Wood. He was a retired assistant funeral director and a member of Harmony Christian Church. Mr. Wood was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Carter Wood.
Survivors include a son, Jim wood, Alto; step-son, Bobby Ray, Commerce; two sisters, Evelyn Lewallen, Baldwin, and Kathryn Payne, Homer; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 2, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Ministers Jerry Payne and David Terrell officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Christian Church Cemetery in Homer.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, August 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
