David Clinard McLeod (1926-2010)

He was born on December 25, 1926. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles E. and Annie Elizabeth Stutts McLeod; and a brother, Winifred S. McLeod. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Doris Aileen Shepherd McLeod; and second wife, Marjorie Coghill McLeod. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy and Marine Corps. He retired from Piedmont Airlines. Survivors are his children, David B. McLeod and wife, Mytra, and daughter, Melody M. Villarini and husband, Miguel; sister, Marian Blakely; and brothers, Charles E. McLeod (Jo), Milton McLeod (Chris), Bob McLeod (Barbara), and Roy McLeod (Sewell). He is also survived by two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, all of Georgia, whom he loved dearly. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Robert L. Wayne officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221.
